The Garden of Olive Trees
Kibbutz Hatזerim

Client: Kibbutz Hatzerim

Landscape Architecture: Berabim Landscape Architecture

Design team: Yael Bar-Maor, Tamar Shoshan, Gali Ziv, Uria Goldshtein

Year: 2024

Kibbutz Hatzerim, a cooperative community, is located in the semi-arid area of the northern Negev desert. The project transformed an old olive-grove into a multifunctional garden.

While the traditional Kibbutz landscape is associated with vast lawns and intensive irrigation, in this garden we used mulch from local pruned materials and designed the topography to hold runoff water, as a pilot project for reducing irrigation.
